Yoga for Athletes Seminar at Tamalpais CrossFit in San Rafael

Yoga is as an important complement to athletic training and while the benefits of yoga are many for competitive athletes, the key is understanding how best to incorporate yoga into your training in order to maximize performance, increase flexibility, and prevent injuries. This workshop will give you a practical approach to yoga that you can easily integrate into your training. We will explore poses and sequences which help warm up the body and are effective prior to your workout, as well as restorative poses that relax the muscles and restore full range of motion following your workout.

$20 for members
$30 for non members

Yoga for Athletes will be coached by the talented Mariah Rooney

Mariah is a Yoga Alliance certified 200 hour RYT. She has also completed trainings in iRest Yoga Nidra, Warriors at Ease (yoga for PTSD and TBI), and the Prison Yoga Project’s training for trauma-sensitive yoga. She stumbled onto her yoga mat after years as a competitive athlete. Mariah draws upon many styles of yoga to ensure her classes are unique and adaptable to the individual needs of her students. Her playful flows focus on both toning up and toning in by creatively linking movement with breath. She weaves mindfulness throughout her vinyasa flows and restorative practices to help her students develop a deeper relationship with their bodies, to quiet their minds, and feed their souls.
