Tamalpais CrossFit in San Rafael Dead Lifts 500,000 Pounds!

Thanks to all that participated this weekend and helped to lift 500,000 pounds to support the fight against cancer! The day started off  with a bang as Ian, Corey and Rick began the lifting. 50, 000 #’s came and went so quickly. Nick P pushed us through the middle of the day and just when we ran outta steam, Tamara and Clark stopped by with loads of inspiration. By the end of day one, we had reached 361,500 #’s.

The beginning of day 2 was slow and go as our legs protested… Laura started the day off with over 6,000 #’s lifted, then, we called in the troops… Corey, Rick, Ashley, Tamara & Clarke took us home and just in the nick of time as it was 9:45 and the participants were just about to walk the last lap. We finished in time and joined in the last lap of a 24 hour walking event. The day was filled with amazing people and we raised over 300$ for the American Cancer Society.

Nutrition Seminar – June 23rd at 7 PM Followed by the “Eating for Health and Athletic Performance Challenge”!

Good nutrition is a big part of CrossFit, you should be eating vegetables, especially greens, lean meats, nuts & seeds, little starch and no sugar. Do you want to know more about eating for health and athletic performance, Paleo, Zone, or how the body reacts to sugar and why grass fed is better? Everyone is welcome, bring your friends and family to TCF on Wednesday, June 23rd at 7 pm as we will be discussing all this and much more.

We will then kick off the next week with “Eating for Health and Athletic Performance Challenge” starting Monday, June 28th and ending August 7th. We will start the challenge by doing a named CrossFit workout and wrap it up six weeks later with that same workout.

The theory is simple, if you eat healthy, fresh living food in the correct portions you will have fitness gains….It really is that simple.

Tamalpais CrossFit in San Rafael is Going Greener!!

TCF Water Bottles

At TCF, we try really hard to use organic products, recycle and leave as little a carbon foot print as possible. We want to encourage people to bring their water bottles to class. Leave them in the gym if you want and take them home once a week to clean. We know that we will never be paper cup-less, but the less we use, the better! You could also get one of these great TCF water bottles which are now available!!
